Many are the Events that take place in the City of Arezzo,the Town made famous by Piero della Francesca with his “Legend of the True Cross” situated in the San Francesco Church. Events like the International polyphonic Competition, The Giostra del Saracino, or the Antiquarian Fair.Many are the historical Sites you can visit, such as Piazza Grande, The house of Petrarca and of Vasari. The beautiful Church of Santa Maria where you can admire the “Madonna e Santi” of Lorenzetti.The Basilica of San Domenico in which you will find the Holy Cross of Cimabue,The Church of Santissima Annunziata with works of Vasari, and the The Dome with his glass windows made by Marcillat, the fresco “La Maddalena” of Piero della Francesca and the Chappel dedicated to The Madonna del Conforto a place of worship for the whole city.

From Subbiano you can start a wonderful trip to the Casentino Valley. It offers a good mixture of historical, artistical and natural Sites to enjoy, like Pieve a Socana with his etruscan History or Poppi, a very beautiful village with the castle of the Earl Guidi. In Stia you can visit the Park “Palagio Fiorentino” with its Thermal waters. Bibbiena has beautiful Churches such as “Santa Maria del Sasso”. In La Verna, you can walk on the steps of Franz of Assisi, and in Camaldoli a Monastery in the middle of wonderful forests with many Chestnut trees you will find also an old Pharmacy with products made by the monks. Montemignaio is a beautiful ancient village, or you can make a journey through the Casentino Forests, a huge territory which includes the “Alpe di Catenaia”.

Starting with Castiglion Fiorentino and its “Cassero” and reaching Cortona already an important centre at Etruscan times,Cortona is worth visiting because of his many masterpieces like the works of Luca Signorelli and Beato Angelico in the Church of San Domenico, interesting is also the Antiquary Fair. Lucignano I salso worth to be seen, as it is a perfectly preserved mediaval village, expecially in MAY when there is a folk festival called “Maggiolata”.In Monte San Savino where Sansovino was born, beside artistical works you’ll find also traditional handicrafts, like earthware. Le Vertighe is a Sanctuary near Monte San Savino, and Gargonza a small village where Roberto Benigni and also Politicians held meetings. If you love Carnival you should go to Foiano and last but not least Castiglion del Lago by the Trasimeno Lake.

Anghiari, Monterchi, Sansepolcro, and Caprese Michelangelo are all along a Route with artistical locations. This Route is also connected to Piero della Francesca, as you can visit some of his works in the Gallery of Sansepolcro and the “Madonna del parto” in Monterchi. Sansepolcro has also the Palio of the Crossbow .To be seen is also the Location of the battle of Anghiari made famous by Leonardo Da Vinci and Anghiari’s local museums, Anghiari is also known because of the ancient tradition of weaving.In Sansepolcro you can admire and also buy beautiful laces and in Caprese Michelangelo you can visit the house where Michelangelo was born.
